In this chapter, Sri Krishna discusses the importance, history, and significance of the Bhagavad Gita.
โ He explains the transmission of this knowledge through a disciplic succession. First, he gave this knowledge to the Sun God, who passed it on to his son Manu. Manu, in turn, passed it to his son King Ikshvaku.
โ Ultimately, this profound knowledge is imparted to Arjuna by the Supreme God himself.
โ Shri Krishna addresses the inevitability of birth and death, emphasizing that everyone who is born will eventually face death.
โ Krishna asserts that death is predetermined, and there's no logical reason to worry about something beyond our control.
โ The chapter also touches upon the concept of divine intervention when evil prevails in the world. Krishna, comes to the world to eradicate evil and restore balance.

โ Furthermore, Krishna highlights the importance of acquiring the right knowledge. He explains that gaining the right knowledge leads to an understanding of the supreme reality. When one realizes the supreme truth, they are liberated from worldly entanglements.
โ Lord Krishna reprimands Arjuna, advising him to fulfill his duty (dharma) as a warrior. He stresses that running away from responsibilities won't lead to spiritual liberation (moksha). Instead, true spiritual growth can be achieved by performing one's duties with a sense of righteousness and devotion.

Shree Krishna reveals that he has taught Gyana Karma Sanyasayoga to the Sun God at the beginning of time. Arjun wonders how Krishna could do this so many years back in time, while Krishna was born more recently. Shree Krishna clarifies his doubts and tells him about his Yogmaya power. The Supreme Lord also tells him about action, in-action, and forbidden. Finally, Krishna tells Arjun to establish himself in Karmyog.
